DBK: I agree with a lot of what you say, so thanks for adding some important detail and insight to my post.

Believe it or not, I do from time to time to time try to push beyond “lazy analysis and baseless speculation.” Keep in mind that Medium is a fairly lightweight platform even by blogging standards. Really, you have about 1,000 words and one point you can make before you lose your audience here.

My “one point” in this post was that the two multiple job patterns, PT/PT and FT/PT are quite distinct and should not be lumped together. In particular, FT/PT is definitely a procyclical indicator whereas PT/PT is not. I think my analysis there is sound, and parts of your reply seem to agree.
