Anyone who wants a good representation of deep adaptation in sci-fi should read the novel Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. The specific disaster that strikes earth in the book is not climate change, but the depiction of deep adaptation is very relevant. I won’t spoil the story by giving details, but the several survival techniques employed by humanity in the novel would all be as applicable to extreme climate disaster as to the disaster depicted in the book.
